The 50 Rand banknote issued in South Africa in 2016 has several distinctive features. It is associated with the figure of Nelson Mandela, an emblematic figure of the country.

On the front of the banknote, there is a portrait of Nelson Mandela positioned on the left side. The inscriptions include the designation of the issuing bank, namely the "South African Reserve Bank", as well as the face value of the banknote, "Fifty Rand". The text is written in the Latin alphabet.

The back of the banknote features a lion's head, placed in the center. Additional inscriptions in local languages, "iBhanki enguVimba yoMzantsi Afrika" and "Bannga ya Vhukati ya Afrika Tshipembe", also appear, followed by the face value "FIFTY RAND - 50 -". The writing is also in the Latin alphabet.

The watermark integrated into the banknote represents a head of Nelson Mandela, reinforcing the central theme of the banknote. The dimensions of the banknote are 140 millimeters in length and 70 millimeters in width.

The combination of these visual and textual elements gives the banknote its own identity as a means of exchange and a national symbol.
