The best 4 Reales from Mexico graded by NGC currently available! Minted during the reign of Philip V, it features an overdate indicating a reuse of dies that took place in 1738, using one from the previous year.

It presents marine oxidation, reflected in the NGC grading with the term "Environmental Damage." However, this does not take away from its AU Details grade, which corresponds to "Almost Uncirculated" in the Spanish grading scale. This can be confirmed by analyzing the amount of preserved detail in the PLUS ULTRA on the columns, the lions' fur, the fleurs-de-lis, or the crown on the obverse.

Furthermore, this is a 4 Reales, one of the most difficult denominations to find in the Real system. Everything comes together in this piece to make it one of the best existing specimens, which is also available on the market today.
