Very rare
Superb trial coin that has retained its original luster. Splendid, intense copper-red color.
Reference: GEM 113.13.
According to the book ‘French Monetary Trials & Piéforts’: Without the word ‘ESSAI’. This trial piece has an iron core entirely plated with copper. The planchet is magnetic. An example in iron is listed by Mazard under number 2579a.
This is the specimen illustrated in the book ‘French Monetary Trials & Piéforts’, published in 2014.
