The 500 Yugoslav Dinar banknote, issued in 1955, features iconography focused on the theme of agriculture and rural labor. This banknote belongs to the DB series.
On the main face, the banknote features a dominant dark green color on a multicolored background. The central element of this face is the representation of a female farmer holding a sickle. This figure symbolizes agricultural work and the contribution of women to the rural economy of Yugoslavia at the time.
The back of the banknote depicts two combine harvesters in action, cutting wheat. This image illustrates the modernization of agriculture and the importance of cereal production for the country. The inscriptions on the banknote indicate the names of the artists involved in its creation: M. Petrović for the drawing and T. Krnjajić for the engraving (FEC. T. KRNJAJIĆ SC.).
Miodrag Petrović is credited as the designer of this banknote, while Tanasije Krnjajić is identified as the engraver. The printer responsible for the production of this banknote is the Serbian State Printing House. The combination of these artistic and technical elements gives the banknote documentary value as a testament to the economic and artistic history of Yugoslavia.
