Another important early Bavarian historical commemorative taler honoring the distinguished scientists and instrument maker Georg Friedrich von Reichenbach and Joseph von Fraunhofer, both of whom died in 1826. Struck circa 1833-1834 as part of King Ludwig I's celebrated Geschichtstaler series. A pleasing Choice Uncirculated specimen displaying well-defined portrait, crisp peripheral legends, and attractive silver-platinum surfaces enriched by deeper charcoal and slate patination, particularly towards the borders. Scattered minor contact marks and fine surface lines are consistent with the assigned grade - MS 64 by PCGS. In general - great and historically significant, appealing coin commemorating two pioneers of German scientific and technological achievement!
