Medal, Société Française d'Archéologie - Congres - Caumont - By C. Trotin
The obverse features a central depiction of a man standing, dressed in formal attire, holding a rolled scroll in his left hand and resting his right hand on a pedestal. Around the figure, the text reads "1801 • ARCISSE DE CAUMONT • 1873," commemorating the life of Arcisse de Caumont (1801–1873), a prominent French archaeologist and historian. At the bottom of the design, the sculptor's signature is visible: "CHAPUVEL-DUBOIS SCULPTEUR" along with the name of the engraver "G. TROTTIN GR. BESCHER ED."
The reverse bears the inscription "SOCIÉTÉ FRANÇAISE D'ARCHÉOLOGIE" along the upper edge, indicating the French Archaeological Society. In the center, it commemorates the "CONGRÈS DE 1891" held in "DOLE. BESANÇON. MONTBÉLIARD." The bottom text reads "FONDÉE EN 1834" (Founded in 1834), referencing the establishment of the society. Decorative floral elements and a dashed border frame the text.
