Lucius Verus; 161-169 AD, Philippopolis, Thrace, Quintus Tullius Maximus, magistrate, AE 32, 21.59g. BM-, SNG Cop-, cf RPC-IV.1 Temp-17364 (Marcus). Obv: ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Λ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟϹ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust r. Rx: ΟΜΟΝ AY ΗΓ ΤΟΥΛ ΜΑΞΙΜΟΥ ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus, each togate, facing each other and clasping hands; Marcus holds scroll. Apparently unpublished for Verus. A single example, cited and illustrated in the temporary RPC listing, is known for Marcus. The apparent small unexplained figure hovering above Marcus' arm is presumably a scroll.
