A killer Proof ! The Eagle is suspended on sleek, deep mirrors. On both sides, the contrast is so sharp that we don't understand why this coin didn't get a CAM grade. (PCGS does tend to be rather harsh when grading bronze and copper coins.) Over the decades, the reverse of this coin has acquired a shimmering blue-green tone in beautiful contrast to the orange hues in the inscription.

The mintage in Proof is estimated at only 150 to 200 pieces, making this probably the finest surviving example available to collectors and an ideal candidate for a #1 set.
