Эрмитажное собрание - одно из самых значительных в мире по количеству и разнообразию изделий из стекла, изготовленных на территории Восточного Средиземноморья и Европы в античное время. Сосуды, украшения и предметы обихода, выполненные в различных техниках и относящиеся к хронологическому периоду продолжительностью почти в тысячу лет (с конца V до н. э. до IV в. н. э.), поступили в Эрмитаж в разное время из различных собраний и археологических раскопок греческих городов-колоний на территории Северного Причерноморья. Каталог и выставка посвящены памяти эрмитажного хранителя, археолога крупнейшего в России специалиста по истории античного стеклоделия Н.З.Куниной, которой принадлежит идея создания этой экспозиции.
