Écu aux branches d'olivier, Head on the left, wearing a headband., Crowned arms in a crown of olive branches., Coin of the highest rarity for this first year of minting! Apart from the Paris mint it seems that this coin is only known in one specimen for the Metz mint and another for the Perpignan mint. Mint letter not published in Gadoury (ed. 2018), one of the rarest coins for ecu collectors. The specimen we offer appears to have circulated extensively and to have been very vigorously cleaned, both the obverse and reverse are heavily scratched.
